Lisa Margaret (Bergman) Carder, 55, of Olathe, Kan., passed away from injuries in a car accident near Terre Haute, Ind., on Sunday, Sept. 16, 2012.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012, at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Olathe. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. at the church. Born Aug. 1, 1957, in Kansas City, she was the daughter of Kenneth and Helen Bergman. She was baptized in Christian faith at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. She was confirmed in 1971 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Marshall. She grew up in Marshall and was a 1975 graduate of Marshall High School. In 1980 she graduated from Southwest Missouri State University with a degree in biology and medical technology. She worked for 32 years as a medical technologist in the Kansas City area and most recently at Research Medical Center. On July 17, 1982, she was united in marriage to Thomas Carder, who survives of the home. She was an avid pet lover and spent much of her time gardening.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is survived by one daughter, Katie Carder of Olathe; one son, James Carder of Lawrence, Kan.; two sister's, Leah Kuhlman and her husband, Don, of Lecompton, Kan., and Julie Watson and her husband, Jay, of Lee's Summit; one brother, Roger Bergman and his wife, Janet, of Holt's Summit; one sister-in-law, Rhonda (Carder) Halliday and her husband, Bill, of Houston, Texas; and nine nieces and nephews.
