Lightfoot wins Pigskin Pick 'Em for second time

Monday, September 24, 2012

The Marshall Democrat-News' Pigskin Pick 'Em contest has its first two-time winner of the season after Harry Lightfoot of Slater selected 10 of 11 victors to earn a large pizza from Pizza Hut.

Lightfoot accumulated 11 points, with four players -- John Gibson, Terry Townsend, Sarah Keith and Tony Willis -- each one point back.

Only one of the games had a 100-percent success rate, second-ranked Salisbury at home against Marceline, with Wellington-Napoleon heavily favored to beat Crest Ridge by a 42-2 vote. The biggest upset was the Kansas City Chiefs' 27-24 overtime victory at New Orleans, in which 62 percent of the players selected the Saints to win.
