Family Weekend at Missouri Valley College was a joyous occasion Saturday not only for football, with a 55-6 victory over Avila, but earlier with a pair of soccer wins.

After being blanked for a half, sophomore Tiago Ferreira came up with a pair of goals for Valley (3-2-1), with two more added by junior Alberto Linan Gomez.

It took 94 minutes, but the Lady Vikings pulled out their contest against Park, 1-0, on freshman Haley Ennis' "golden goal." Junior Erikka Diarte posted her fourth shutout for Valley (5-1), which won its fourth straight.

The Lady Pirates (1-4) got four stops from junior Ellen Ghiardi.

The Valley men and women head to the Sooner State this weekend for a match today at Oklahoma Baptist and a Saturday tilt at Rogers State.

Third-place medals for the Vikings went to freshman Lucas Oliveira Souza at No. 3 and Garrett at No. 4.

The Vikings compete in the ITA Regional Tournament at Wichita, Kan., this weekend to close out the fall schedule.
