MEXICO -- The Marshall girls' tennis team got its third NCMC shutout of the season Thursday with an 11-0 victory at Mexico.

The Lady Owls have blanked four opponents this season. The Lady Bulldogs (0-10, 0-5 NCMC) had only 11 players, so No. 6 doubles was not played.

The closest matches of the day were 10-3 tilts: sophomore Molly Evans' victory over senior Caroline Finck at No. 1 singles and a No. 3 doubles contest between seniors Kaylie Davenport and Ellen Woolsey and the Mexico duo of freshmen Olivia Kerr and junior Shanna Edmiston.

Marshall got 10-0 victories by freshman Taylor Crawford and juniors Payton Beeler and Idalia Aguilar in singles and the combos of Crawford and Beeler, Aguilar and junior Amanda Harrelson, and junior Callee Stephens and senior Sam Huston in doubles.

Senior Stephanie Markes and Harrelson won their singles matches by 10-2 margins, as did Evans and Markes at No. 1 doubles.

Beeler improved to 12-0 to remain the Lady Owls' only unbeaten singles player, with Crawford and Aguilar at 11-1. The Davenport-Woolsey pair is 6-0 in doubles, while Crawford-Beeler is 11-1 at No. 2.

Marshall (11-1, 4-0) will host Fulton in a league match today.
