Roberta Bolling Laidlaw, 78, of Tempe, Arz., died Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2012, at her home.
Visitation was held from 4 to 7 p.m. at Bueler Chandler Mortuary in Chandler, Ariz. Graveside services were private and held Saturday morning. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012, at Dayspring United Methodist Church located at 1365 E. Elliot Road in Tempe, Ariz.
Born Dec. 5, 1933, in Kansas City, she was the daughter of Geralidine and Raymond Bolling.
For 61 years she was married to her husband John, who survives of the home. She was a graduate of Marshall High School. She moved from Missouri to Casa Grande, Ariz., in 1954. She bacame a registered nurse in 1971. She attended Mesa Community College and Northern Arizona University. In her nursing career she worked for Visiting Nurse Service and for the Maricopa County Health Department. She later became a school nurse for Chandler Public School System and then became the school nurse coordinator. She then worked as the school nurse at Powell Junior High in Mesa. Upon her retirement she continued to work part-time doing vision and hearing screenings each year for the children.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by five children; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
