Harold S. (Doc) Garrett, 75, of Marshall, died Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2012, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012, at First Assembly of God Church in Marshall, with Rev. David Stevens and William W. Harlow officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Sunset Gardens Cemetery in Marshall. Born Feb. 16, 1937, in Marshall, he was the son of the late Marion Francis Garrett and Kathryn Lydia Narron Garrett. On Feb. 16, 1962, he married Luella (Lou) Cahow who survives of the home. He had lived in Marshall his entire life and worked at Lake City Arsenal, retiring from ConAgra in 2000 after 28 years of service. He was a member of First Assembly of God Church.
In addition to his wife, Lou, he is survived by one son, Ricky D. Garrett of rural Marshall; one daughter, Charla Huston and her husband, Matt, of Marshall; three grandsons, Blake Garrett, Garrett Huston and Matthew Huston; one great-grandson, Hagan Thomas Garrett; four sisters, Cecil Mae Fletcher of Marshall, Maxine Kochs Neely of Slater, Barbara Duncan of Joplin and Becky Howard of Stilwell, Kan.; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six sisters and three brothers.
