Iva Martin Pickett, 83, of Carrollton, passed away Friday, Aug. 31, 2012, at her son's home in Dearborn.
Funeral Services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 7, 2012, at Bittiker Funeral Home in Carrollton with Brother Kim Major officiating.Visitation will be held prior to the service starting at 1 p.m. Burial will be in Carroll Memory Gardens in Carrollton. Born Dec. 12, 1928, she was the daughter of Ernest and Margaret (Hoiwley) Martin in Wimauma, Fla. She attended school in Portsmouth, Va. On Nov. 13, 1948, she married Robert Henry Pickett in Portsmouth, Va. She served as a full-time minister for 28 years for the Jehovah's Witness.
She is survived by her children, Robert Stephan Pickett of Jacksonville, Fla., Sharon Elizabeth Laing of Lee's Summitt and Nathan Andrew Pickett of Dearborn; one sister, Ernestine Martin Cary of Portsmouth, Va.; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three sons, William Gregory, James Ernest and Jeffery Scott; two brothers; and two sisters.
