Kingsville Livestock Auction: Cattle Auction Report for 09/04/2012

Receipts:  600    Last Week:  1625    Year Ago:  855

   Compared to last week, steer calves under 450 lbs sold mostly 10.00 to
12.00 higher; other steer and heifer calves sold with a lower undertone;
yearling were lightly tested.  Supply was light to moderate.  Demand was
good to very good.  Slaughter cows sold 2.00 to 5.00 higher on a good test.
Cows and bulls were 24 percent of receipts.  In the feeder supply, steers
and bulls were 59 percent of the run; heifers 41 percent.  Near 26 percent
of feeders weighed over 600 lbs.

   Feeder Steers:  Medium and Large 1  300-400 lbs 169.50-185.00; 400-
500 lbs 154.50-173.25; 500-600 lbs 145.00-157.00; pkg 642 lbs 144.00;
700-800 lbs 136.00-137.50.  Medium and Large 1-2  300-400 lbs 169.00-
186.00; 400-500 lbs 152.00-164.50; 500-600 lbs 147.50-163.50; 600-
700 lbs 134.00-145.00; pkg 845 lbs 130.00.

   Feeder Heifers:  Medium and Large 1  350-400 lbs 144.50-149.25; 400-
500 lbs 143.50-152.00; 500-600 lbs 135.25-143.00; few 620-675 lbs 122.50-
124.25; few 700-800 lbs 123.00-129.25.  Medium and Large 1-2  300-400 lbs
138.50-154.00; 400-500 lbs 135.00-148.50; pkg 515 lbs 137.00; 600-650 lbs

   Feeder Bulls:  Medium and Large 1-2  400-500 lbs 149.25-166.00, thin
