Bobbie Gene Clemons, 81, of Marshall, died Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2012, at University Hospital and Clinics in Columbia.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2012, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall with William W. Harlow officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Sunset Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the local Show-Me Honor Flight fund. Born Dec. 13, 1930, in Miami, he was the son of the late Amos Ellis Clemons and Berla Mae North Clemons. In August 1975 he married Evelyn Houk, who preceded him in death on June 8, 1997. He lived in Saline County most of his life where he worked at International Shoe Factory, Marshall Habilitation Center and had been a brick layer. He then owned and operated BC Plumbing in Marshall for many years. He was a U.S. Army veteran and was a member of American Legion Post 191 and V.F.W. Post 2646.
Survivors include one son, Gregory Gene Clemons and his wife, Sue, of Tinley Park, Ill.; one daughter, Cheryl Kay Clemons of Las Vegas, Nev.; two stepdaughters, Brenda Lee Smith and her husband, Stephen, of Slater and Jeanie Lipskey and her husband, Ronald, of Redlands, Calif.; one stepson, Everett E. Corum and his wife, Michelle, of Columbia, Md.; several grandchildren, including John Clemons, Benjamin Clemons, Zachary Huesgen and Megan Hunt; one great-grandson, A.J. Huesgen; one brother, Waid Clemons and his wife, Jo, of Marshall; along with many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one brother, Warren Clemons.
