James Oliver Hodge, 83, of Marshall, formerly of St. Elizabeth, died Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2012, at Boone County Hospital in Columbia.
Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m., with services immediately following at 2 p.m., on Saturday, Sept. 1, 2012, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia, with Brother Freddie Earp officiating. Born April 17, 1929, in St. Anthony, he was the son of the late Oliver and Katie (Kesterson) Hodge. On Feb. 3, 1951, in Tuscumbia, he married Eunice Farrow, who preceded him in death on Dec. 15, 1996. On May 12, 2002, in Ulman, he married Norma (Boulware) Nickell, who survives of the home. He attended First Assembly of God Church in Marshall and Fairview Christian Church near Iberia.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four stepchildren, Roger Nickell of Independence, Rhonda Shay of Grandview, Glenda Mutrux of Glenwood, Iowa; and Mary James of Chillicothe; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
