Jessie Rose Hemme, 76, of Sweet Springs, died Thursday, Aug. 23, 2012, at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 27, 2012, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Emma, with Pastor Jacob Mueller officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the church. Burial will be in Holy Cross Lutheran Cemetery. Born Aug. 26, 1935, in Preston, she was the daughter of the late John Russell and Cora Erickson Russell. She was a graduate of Blackburn High School. On Sept. 6, 1957, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Emma, she married Herbert Hemme who preceded her in death on Dec. 20, 2001. She had lived in Sweet Springs since 1995, moving from Emma, was a homemaker and a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church.
Survivors include one son, David Paul Hemme of Emma; two grandsons; one sister, Martha Rafferty of Warsaw; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Cheryl Hemme; two brothers; and six sisters.
