Robert Lee (Bob) Shannon, 86, of Marshall, died Friday, Aug. 10, 2012, at Big Bend Retreat in Slater.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2012, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall. Visitation will be held from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial with military rites will be in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Pallbearers will be Bert Shannon, Trafton Shannon, Aaron Shannon, Butch LaGore, Michael Clouser and Joe Klinge. Born Jan. 15, 1926, in Saline County, he was the son of the late William Shannon and Maude Murphy Shannon. On Sept. 6, 1947, he married Dora Lee Marsh who survives of the home. He lived in Saline County his entire life, was a farmer and a member of Zoar Baptist Church. He had served in the U.S. Army.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Wayne Shannon and his wife, Sherry, of rural Napton, Gayle Clouser and her husband, Mike, of Marshall and Steve Shannon and his wife, Penny, of Marshall; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Ed Shannon of rural Napton; one sister, Jean Aldredge of Marshall; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.
