Paul Eugene Tyre, 61, of Stover, formerly of Slater, passed away Friday, Aug. 3, 2012, at Good Shepard Care Center in Versailles.
A family service will be held at a later date with interment in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, with military honors conducted by VFW Post 4367. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Jones and Steve McWhirter. Memorial contributions are suggested to the VFW in Paul's honor. Funds will be designated to Post 4367 and Post 5178. Rea Funeral Chapel in Sedalia is in charge of arrangements.
Born May 29, 1951, he was the son of the late James Tyre and Ruth (Green) Tyre. He served his country honorably in Vietnam as a military policeman in the U.S. Army. He was a member of VFW Post 4367 of Slater and Post 5178 of Gravois Mills. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by two children, John Michael and his wife, Carolyn, of Richland, and Stephanie Flick and her husband, Charles, of Fayette; his long-time companion, Marilynn Case; her two sons, Bernell Case and his wife, Misty, and Michael Case and his wife, Kris; one sister, Judy Hold and her husband, Bob; two brothers, Jim Tyre and his wife, Betty, and Tom Tyre; and 11 grandchildren.
