Thelma Mae Gann, 82, of Higginsville, formerly of Saline County, died Tuesday, July 17, 2012, at Western Missouri Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 21, 2012, at Kaiser-Wiegers Funeral Home in Higginsville with Dr. Greg Fine of First Baptist Church in Higginsville officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Casketbearers will be Jerry Fiene, Earl Fiene, Steve Whitt, Justin Gann, Larry Popjoy and Parviz Huseynov. Burial will be in Higginsville City Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the American Lung Association, American Diabetes Association or American Heart Association. Born Aug. 1, 1929, in Blackwater, she was the daughter of the late Guy and Bessie (Powers) Nichols. On Aug. 28, 1947, she married John Gann, who preceded her in death on July 12, 2001. She grew up in Saline County and settled in Mayview in 1960 until moving to Higginsville Estates.

She is survived by her son Johnnie Gann of Corder; her daughter, Sharon Fiene of Corder; two brothers, James Nichols of Marshall and Percy Nichols of Independence; four sisters, Marie Long, Maxine Riley and Barbara Claggett, all of Marshall, and Ruth Slee of Lexington; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
