Shelton Zimmerman, 87, of Marshall, formerly of rural Hughesville, died Saturday, July 7, 2012, at The Living Center in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 14, 2012, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with Rev. Wayne Doolin officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Memorials may be made to Fitzgibbon-Mary Montgomery Hospice. Born Dec. 27, 1924, in Saline County, he was the son of the late Faris Shelton Zimmerman Sr. and Alma Ruth Thomas Zimmerman. On Jan. 11, 1946, he married Virginia Emma Arensmeier who preceded him in death on June 14, 1993. On Jan. 15, 1994, he married Mary Louise Driskell who survives. He was a farmer and had lived in Marshall since July of 2006, moving from Pettis County. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church and Mo. Fox Trotters Horse Breeding Association.
In addition to his wife, survivors include four children, Thomas W. (Tom) Zimmerman and his wife, Sande, of Affton, Shelia Wilson and her husband, Douglas, of Winston-Salem, N.C., Carolyn Aulgur and her husband, Jimmie, of rural Marshall and Wendell S. Zimmerman and his wife, Dana, of rural Hughesville; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and first wife, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Linda Mooneyham; one brother, Martin Zimmerman; and one sister in infancy, Charlotte Ruth Zimmerman.
