Raymond H. Stoll, 92, of Blackburn, died Tuesday, June 26, 2012, at I-70 Community Hospital in Sweet Springs.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 29, 2012, at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Blackburn with William W. Harlow officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Blackburn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Concordia. Born Nov. 22, 1919, in rural Alma, he was the son of the late Edward Stoll and Meta Holke Stoll. He lived in the Alma and Blackburn areas his entire life and was a 1937 graduate of Alma High School and lifelong member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Blackburn. On Oct. 22, 1942, he married Shirley Schuette who survives of the home. On May 20, 1943, he joined the Army Air Corps and served in the Philippines. He was honorably discharged on Dec. 27, 1945. After returning home, he spent the remainder of his life farming in the Blackburn and Alma areas. He was a life member of Blackburn American Legion Post 478, life member of Corder V.F.W. Post 4288, served on the Blackburn Bank Board and Concordia Farmers Mutual Board, as well as numerous agricultural organizations.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Ronald Stoll and Donald Stoll, both of Alma and Janice Stoll and Terresa Stoll, both of Blackburn; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; two brothers, Lawrence Stoll of Higginsville and Everett Stoll of Overland Park, Kan.; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother; four sisters; and one grandson.
