Caroline June King, 82, of Marshall, died Sunday, June 24, 2012, at The Living Center in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 28, 2012, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with Rev. Barry Baugh and Rev. Tom Owens will officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sunset Gardens Cemetery in Marshall. Born June 2, 1930, in Sweet Springs, she was the daughter of the late Anzel Zebedee Swopes and Laura Ann King Swopes. On Nov. 24, 1965, in Sedalia, she married Robert F. (Bob) King who preceded her in death on Dec. 8, 1998. She had lived in Saline County her entire life, was a graduate of Sweet Springs High School and retired from Lake City Arsenal. She was a member of Smith Chapel United Methodist Church south of Marshall.
Survivors include three daughters, Mike Bailey and Marsha Mullins, both of Marshall and Patty Poppinga of Sweet Springs; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Joe Bob King; one sister; one brother; and two siblings in infancy.
