Pre-registration is going on through Saturday for the Marshall Junior Tennis Association's 48th annual Holiday Tournament, set for June 28-29 at the Indian Foothills Park and Marshall High School courts.
Entry fees are $8 for singles and $16 per doubles team, payable to Indian Foothills Park. Each entrant will also need to furnish one new can of USTA-approved tennis balls. Entry forms can be submitted at the park office or to any MJTA officer or instructor.
Singles play will be Thursday, June 28, with girls' and boys' 10-and-under and 12-and-under boys starting at 8:30 a.m., 12-and-under girls at 9:15 a.m. and girls' 14-U beginning 10 a.m. -- all on the MHS courts. At the park, boys' 14-and-under and girls' 16-U will get under way at 8:30 a.m., boys' 16-U at 9:30 a.m. and boys' and girls' 18-and-under at 10:30 a.m.
All of the doubles tilts on Friday, June 29, will be at the park. Girls', boys' and mixed 10-and-under and 12-and-under will start at 8:30 a.m., 14-and-under will be at 9 a.m. and 16- and 18-and-under begins at 10 a.m.
Scoring will be best two-out-of-three sets with no add for all but 10-and-under players, who will use pro-8 no-add. Awards will be presented to the top three finishers in each division.
