A memorial service was held Thursday, June 7, 2012, at Ford and Sons Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau. Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 30, 2012, at Miami Cemetery in

Born June 28, 1921, in Vermillion County, Ind., he was the son of the late William M. and Mabel Willis Vaughan. On March 31, 1967, in Sikeston, he married Erma Jean Malugen, who survives of the home. He was of the Methodist belief. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II being involved in the European, African and Middle Eastern Theatres. He was a superintendent of operations of construction on the Mississippi and Missouri Rivers.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Gregory Vaughan of Red Oak, Texas, Michael Vaughan of Ashburn, Va., and Rick Venson of Tampa, Fla.; two daughters, Ann Rene Patton of Ashburn, Wash., and Dianne LaCroix and her husband, Larry, of Cape Girardeau; two grandchildren, Jason LaCroix and his wife, Jaime, of Florence, Ky., and Jeffrey LaCroix and his wife, Tiffany, of Christiansburg, Va.; and three great-grandchildren, Jackson and Landon LaCroix, of Florence, Ky., and Gavin LaCroix of Christiansburg, Va.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Valerie Vaughan; and one brother, Ralph Vaughan.
