Clarence W. Ehlert, 99, formerly of Concordia, died Monday, June 11, 2012, at Mar-Saline Manor in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 15, 2012, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Concordia, with William W. Harlow officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Higginsville City Cemetery. Born May 8, 1913, in Tea, he was the son of the late Fred Ehlert and Rosa Huerner Ehlert. On March 12, 1935, he married Ida Jaspering who preceded him in death in 1977. On Feb. 14, 1978, he married Mildred Ridder Bartel who preceded him in death on April 10, 2010. Clarence was a lifelong carpenter and was a member of the Methodist Church of Concordia.
Survivors include one son, Richard Ehlert of Cortez, Colo.; two grandsons; four great-grandchildren; six stepchildren, Gerald Bartel of Marshall, Cheryl Holder of Napton, James Bartel of Midland, Texas, Rose Phillips of Florence, Sue Bartelette of Jamestown and Cynthia Williams of St. Louis; 19 step grandchildren; 26-step great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents and wives, he was preceded in death by one son, Wayne Ehlert; one grandson; one step son, William Bartel; one step grandson; one brother; and eight sisters.
