Phillomene (Phill) Peterson, 90, of Bogard, passed away Saturday, June 2, 2012, at Carroll House in Carrollton.
Visitation was held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 4, 2012, at Bittiker Funeral Home. A Rosary service and funeral mass were held on Tuesday, June 5, 2012, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Carrollton, with Father Kenneth Criqui officiating. Graveside services followed at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Carrollton. The family suggests contributions be made to the Monsignor Emmett Summers Scholarship Fund or St. Mary's Cemetery. Born July 30, 1921, in Grand Pass, she was the daughter of the late Fred B. and Lucille (Chamberlain) Flair. Following graduation from Grand Pass High School in 1939, she was employed by the Santa Fe Railroad as a station agent. She married Joseph Noel (John) Peterson on New Year's Eve, 1949 at St. Mary's Rectory in Carrollton.
She is survived by five children, Bill Peterson and his wife, Connie, of Tina, Tom Peterson and his wife, Darlene, of Gilbert, Ariz., Mary Whitney and her husband, Dick, of Carrollton, Frank Peterson and his wife, Angela, of Bogard, and Joey Ellsworth and her husband, Steve, of Surprise, Ariz; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John, her parents and one grandson, Matthew Peterson.
