Peggy L. Gardner, 86, of Lee's Summit, formerly of Lake Lotawana, passed away Monday, May 21, 2012.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate her life from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, May 27, 2012, in the Garden Room at Valley View Residential Care on the John Knox Village campus, 1704 NW O'Brien Road in Lee's Summit. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to JKV Foundation (Village House Scholarship Fund), 400 NW Murray Road, Lee's Summit, MO 64081-1498. Langsford Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Born March 20, 1926, in Eudora, Kan., she was the daughter of Otto and Leoti (Gabriel) Durr. On June 8, 1947, in Olathe, Kan., she married Melvin G. Gardner. She was a homemaker, devoting herself to her family and their activities.
She is survived by her children, Pam Thomeczek and her husband, Mark, of Marshall, Candy White and her husband, Bob, of Lee's Summit, Sue Rassette and her husband, Brian, of Leawood, Kan., John Gardner and his wife, Tracee, of Lake Lotawana and Michael Gardner and his wife, Alex, of Lake Lotawana; eleven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her husband and infant granddaughter.
