David A. Nixon, 54, of Slater, died Wednesday, April 25, 2012, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, April 30, 2012, at Slater United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Slater City Cemetery. Weiker Funeral Home in Slater is in charge of the arrangements.
Born March 22, 1958, in Kansas City, Kan., he was the son of George Nixon, who survives of Osceola, and the late Bertha Camerlynk Nixon. On Jan. 22, 2010, in Independence, he married Elvira Nikolaenko, who survives of the home. He was a member of Blue Springs Christian Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran and worked as a CNA with Home Health in Sedalia. He had lived in Slater for the past several months, moving from Sedalia.
Also surviving are three stepsons, Gersham Dovgorouki, Fedor Dovgorouki and David Dovgorouki, all of the home; and a brother, Michael Nixon of Kansas City, Kan.
