MOBERLY -- The Marshall baseball team ended a three-game losing streak Friday with a 10-1 NCMC victory at Moberly.
The Owls did all of their scoring in two innings, starting with seven runs in the third. They banged out six hits during the rally, including triples by junior Henry Tietz to lead it off and senior Tyler Hunt to drive in a run.
Senior Jordan Pannell and junior Darion Lawrence had RBI singles and sophomore Canaan Heinzler doubled in a run.
Lawrence began the fifth with a single and steal and was one of two runners to come in on a double by junior Zach Bishop, who was plated by Pannell's single.
Senior southpaw Aaron Skinner gave up only two hits during five innings of work, but three two-out walks and a wild pitch allowed senior Austin Nickerson to score the only run for the Spartans (4-7, 2-5 NCMC).
Skinner pitched out of jams in all but the first inning, stranding nine runners on base. Sophomore Mason Paulus mopped up with two scoreless frames on the mound.
The Owls (10-4, 5-2) will be on the road Tuesday for a league contest at Hannibal.
