Tralucia W. "Lou" Franklin, 88, of St. Joseph, died Friday, April 13, 2012, at a local healthcare facility.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 24, 2012, at Meierhoffer Funeral Home and Crematory in St. Joseph. The family received friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, April 23, 2012, at the funeral home. Friends may call after 5 p.m. Monday. Born Jan. 26, 1924, in Slater, she was the daughter of William and Tralucia (Proctor) Walden Argubright in Slater. On Dec. 24, 1940, she married Robert E. Franklin, who preceded her in death on March 31, 2002. She received her degree in social work from Missouri Western State University and worked for the Division of Family Services. She also managed the Moila Pool. She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church, DAR and MWSC-Alumnus.

She is survived by one son, Bill Franklin, and his wife, Margie, of Lake Ozark; four daughters, Karen (Mimi) Savidge, and her husband, Boomer, of Village of the Oaks, Lucia Chastain of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Susan Roth and her husband, Bob, Jeannie Franklin and Cyndi Michalski, all of St. Joseph; 12 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by one sister, Louise Butts; and two granddaughters, Katie Savidge-Kluge and Tralou Chastain.
