Marshall FFA ag issues team wins district

The Marshall FFA Agriculture Issues team recently attended the Area 6 FFA Contest held in Higginsville on March 20 and received first place out of three teams competing.

Last week they competed at District FFA Contest in Warrensburg and won first place. This qualifies them to compete at State FFA Contest Thursday, April 19, in Columbia. The team conducted several public forums concerning the agriculture topic of renewable versus nonrenewable energy. Agriculture Issues, a relatively new contest area that was established within the Missouri FFA three years ago, challenges teams to investigate and report both sides of an issue facing agriculture today.

The Marshall FFA Team, consisting of freshman Jesse Burton, Brandon Cline, Chadron Koehn, Allie Lemmons and Emily Raines have been presenting their topic to local organizations in an effort to educate the public about their issue.
