Douglas T. Crank Sr., 87, of Concordia, formerly of Sweet Springs, died Thursday, April 5, 2012, at The Lutheran Good Shepherd Home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 10, 2012, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Concordia. Visitation will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial with military rites will be in Fairview Cemetery in Sweet Springs. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Show-Me Christian Youth Home in La Monte. Born March 11, 1925, in Shackelford, he was the son of the late George T. Crank and Della M. Jordan Crank. On Aug. 5, 1947, in Marshall, he married Maxine Griffitt who survives of the home. He had lived in Concordia since 1998 moving from Sweet Springs and was a retired Civil Service employee. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, a member of Sweet Springs American Legion Post 279 and the First Christian Church in Sweet Springs.
In addition to his wife, survivors include four children, Douglas T. Crank Jr. of Sedalia, Don W. Crank of Springfield, Derrick L. Crank of Concordia and Deanna M. Inman of Concordia; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; three sisters, Cora Lee Fuchs of Sweet Springs, Evelyn Bledsoe of rural Nelson and Mary Forsyth of Sedalia; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Richard, Samuel and Lewis Crank; and one sister, Anna Crawford.
