Wednesday afternoon, April 4, the Saline County Clerk's office released the unofficial tally of write-in candidates from the Tuesday, April 3, election.
In most cases, write-in candidates were supplied by voters in cases where no candidate filed to be on the ballot.
For Gilliam Board of Aldermen, Carrie North received six votes, and Allison Foster received 2 to win the two two-year terms. Three other people received one vote each.
For Sweet Springs Road District, David Boland received 28 votes to win the three year term. Eight other people received one or two votes each.
For Slater City Council, Jake Brumit received seven write-in votes for the Ward 2 council seat he currently occupies as an appointee.
For 911 Northern District Commissioner, Levi Dennis won the seat with 34 votes. Other top vote-getters included:
--Harry Lightfoot: 16
--Charlie Guthrie: 14
--Wade Kelling: 12
--Norvelle "Brownie" Brown: 7
--Gene Griffith: 5
--Pat Peterson: 5
Another 44 people received one or two votes each.
The election certification process will begin at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 5.
