Phyllis M. Millard, 88, of Marshall, died Monday, March 26, 2012, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 30, 2012, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with Mark Gooden officiating. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Saline Animal League. Friends may sign the online register book at www.campbell-lewis.com.
Born July 28, 1923, in Lafayette, Ind., she was the daughter of the late Kleeman Faust and Eva Edris Faust. On May 20, 1951, she married Mearl Nathan Millard who preceded her in death on June 28, 2004. She returned to Marshall in 1962 and had worked at Odell Avenue Clinic, Marshall State School and Hospital, and The Blosser Home. She was active with the Welcome Wagon and a member of Boots & Slippers Square Dancing Club. She published numerous short stories and poems.
Survivors include three sons, Danny K. Millard of The Villages, Fla., Eugene C. Millard of Marshall and Marty Millard of Ponte Vedra, Fla.; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one sister, Nancy Spurgeon of Marshall; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her stepmother, Wynonna Faust.
