Anna Marie Litton, 83, of Sweet Springs, formerly of Marshall, died Wednesday, March 14, 2012, at Royal Oaks Residential Care in Sweet Springs.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 19, 2012, at Community of Christ Church in Marshall with Elder Cherryl Flandermeyer officiating. Order of the Eastern Star service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday with visitation following until 3 p.m. at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Burial will be in Sunset Gardens Cemetery in Marshall. Memorials may be made to Community of Christ Church Youth Fund. Friends may sign the online register book at www.campbell-lewis.com.
Born Feb. 28, 1929, in Marshall, she was the daughter of the late Jack Murphy and Ada Stortz Murphy. On Aug. 25, 1946, she married Charles E. Litton who preceded her in death on March 31, 2000. She had lived in Sweet Springs since 1965 previously living in Marshall. She had worked at Sweet Springs schools as a teacher's aide, Concordia Foods and most recently at Royal Oaks as well as being a homemaker. She was a den mother for Cub Scouts and was an active member of Order of the Eastern Star where she had held numerous positions including Worthy Grand Matron. She was a member of Community of Christ Church where she taught Sunday school. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed the senior dances.
Survivors include one son, Paul Litton and his wife, Diana, of Sweet Springs; one daughter, Joyce Evans of Eldon; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one sister, Doris Derocher of the state of Michigan; special friend, Arthur (Junior) Steeleman of Odessa; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one great-grandson, Blake Litton; one brother, Homer Murphy; and three sisters, Maxine Banks, Shirley Piper and Betty Lale.
