Jerry Douglas Gilpin, 69, of Sedalia, passed away Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012, at Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia.
A memorial service was held at 3 p.m. Friday, March 2, 2012, at Rea Funeral Chapel in Sedalia.
Born May 2, 1942, in Columbia, he was the son of the late Ira Gilpin and Lona (Long) Richardson. He attended Hickman High School in Columbia and served his country honorably in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by one son, Troy Gilpin and his wife, Rebecca, of Little River, S.C.; one brother, Jim Gilpin and his wife, Mary Ann, of Marshall; three grandchildren, Coric, Gage and Tory; and one great-granddaughter, Alisyn.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son,Terry Gilpin; and a brother, John Gilpin.
