Dorothy B. Hahn, 89, of Marshall, died Monday, Feb. 27, 2012, at Mar-Saline Manor in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 3, 2012, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel, with Dr. Phillip Soto Jr. and Rev. Vernon Maxted officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sunset Gardens Cemetery in Marshall. Memorials may be made to Bethany Baptist Church. Born Nov. 1, 1922, in Nelson, she was the daughter of the late Charles Murphy and Willie Mae Ault Murphy. She served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. On Nov. 29, 1952, she married Alvin Robert Hahn Sr. who preceded her in death on Dec. 19, 1992. She was an LPN in the nursery at Fitzgibbon Hospital retiring to raise her son. She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church where she was church pianist for many years. She also played the piano at Mar-Saline Manor and Westport.
Survivors include one son, Alvin Robert Hahn Jr. and his wife, Dona, of Marshall; three grandchildren, Emily Hahn, Courtney Hahn and Nathan Hahn; one great-granddaughter, Ava Brooke Hayes; one special niece, Terry Garrison; one nephew, Jim Cornine; several great-nieces and nephews; and mother-in-law, Caroline Hahn of Marshall.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a twin sister, Doris N. Cornine; two brothers, Ralph Murphy and Muriel Murphy; one brother in infancy; and a stepbrother, Forest Murphy.
