Annual Women in Ag event set for March 9

Registration is now open for "Stitching Life's Pieces Together," the 2012 Women in Agriculture regional conference set for March 9, at the Martin Community Center in Marshall.

Organizers have said following the 2011 record-breaking attendance has been a hard act to follow, but feel they have put together another great program.

Kicking off the morning after coffee and registration at 8:30 a.m., will be Sharon Oetting from Concordia, Mo. Oetting, the Farm Journal Spokesperson of the Year and Missouri Master Farmer's Award winner will be focusing on "Telling Your Story."

The luncheon speaker will be farm activiist Chris Chinn, who resides on her family's hog farm near Clarence. Her address will be "Standing Up for Agriculture."

"Eat Wise, Drop a Size;" "Soil Health", "Crop Insurance", "Grain Marketing 101" and "Barns, Quilts and $$$, are just a few of the 12 breakout sessions which will be offered during the event, which ends at 3 p.m.

Registration is $15 before March 1 and $18 at the door. It includes all materials and lunch. Luncheon music will be provide by the Roadkill Clarinet Quintet.
