A Marshall man has been charged in Saline County Circuit Court with class C felony abuse of a child and class A felony first-degree assault with serious physical injury, according to court documents.
Joshua Wayne Pabst, 27, is accused of shaking and dropping a baby, according to a probable cause statement submitted to the prosecuting attorney's office by Marshall Police Department.
The incident occurred Saturday evening, Jan. 28, according to the report.
The child was taken by air ambulance to a Kansas City hospital. Her condition is not noted in the report.
Pabst was arrested and was taken to Saline County Jail Thursday evening, Feb. 2, according to Sheriff's Department documents. Bond was set at $25,000 cash only.
If convicted on the assault charge, Pabst could face 10 to 30 years or life in Missouri Department of Corrections. If convicted on the child abuse charge, he could face up to seven years is DOC or up to one year in the county jail and/or up to a $5,000 fine.
