Kids had an opportunity Thursday evening to do what they do best -- play.

Parents as Teachers, with the assistance of several educators and Missouri Valley College students, held its annual Motor Mania event at Marshall High School. Children ages five and younger tumbled across mats, bowled, jumped on trampolines and whacked balloons until exhaustion set in.

Parents received information on fine motor skill development as well, as PAT encouraged them to have children scribble, paint and cut paper. Fine motor skills include the movement of hands, toes and mouth, among other concentrated movements.

PAT has reached out to parents and children through Motor Mania for approximately 10 years.

Great job PAT.
