Shirley L. Edde, 62, of Malta Bend, died Thursday, Jan. 26, 2012, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, 2012, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with William W. Harlow officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Malta Bend Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Andrew Edde, Clint Wilson, Bryan Mobley, Bill Mobley, Gary Gorrell and Blake Koss. Honorary pallbearers will be Corrie Wilson, Brittany Koss, Heather Fuller and Chelsie Edde. Born Feb. 17, 1949, in Marshall, she was the daughter of the late Bernard Cecil Newton and Susie Mae Jolliff Newton Shields. On April 23, 1966, she married Burr P. Edde Jr. who survives of the home. She had lived in Malta Bend most of her life and was a member of Waverly Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three children, Teresa Koss, Lisa Edde and Burr P. Edde III, all of Malta Bend; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Linda Kay Bellamy of Marshall; two brothers, Roger Newton of Marshall and Dennis Smith of Mora; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Raymond Shields; and two brothers, Robert and Donald Newton.
