Mary Scott, 67, of Sweet Springs, died Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012.
Funeral Services will be at 12 p.m. Friday, Jan. 20, at Sweet Springs Assembly of God Church in Sweet Springs. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Friday at the church. Born Aug. 26, 1944, in Jennings, Fla., she was the daughter of the late Rev. John H. Rich and Vernell Rich, who survives. In 1945, she moved to Malta Bend and later moved to Sweet Springs. She graduated high school in 1962. She was a member of Yokum Chapel A.M.E Church in Malta Bend for many years serving on the Women's Missionary Society and as church secretary. She was currently a member of Sweet Springs Assembly of God Church. She was a member of Sweet Springs Optimist Club and was one of its founders, serving on the board and helping earn distinguished club of the year during one of her presidencies. She worked for Tyson Foods in Concordia for 15 years.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by one son, Larry Scott of Sedalia; one daughter, Tiffany Scott of Sweet Springs; three grandchildren; one sister, Anna Kemp of Columbia; three brothers, George Rich of Sweet Springs, Lonnie Rich Sr. of Jefferson City and John Rich Jr. of Sweet Springs.
