Billie I. Williams, 84, of Urich, died Thursday, Jan. 12, 2012, at Research Belton Hospital in Belton.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2012, at Vansant-Mills Chapel in Clinton with interment in Englewood Cemetery in Clinton. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the Vansant-Mills Chapel. Born in Henry County, he was the son of the late Ivey Lee and Lillie Cathyrn "Kate" (Dunning) Williams. He served in the Merchant Marines during World War II and was in the National Guard. He married Norma Lee Sanders on Aug. 8, 1947, who survives of the home. He was co-owner of Williams Rock Co. before retiring. He was a heavy equipment operator building many ponds and lakes. He also farmed and raised cattle.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Alex Williams of Prairie Village, Kan.; two daughters, Nicki Greenwood of Adrian and Jerri Rasse of Marshall; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Chris Williams; two brothers, Cyril Williams and I.L. Williams Jr.; and one sister, Doris Reader.
