Frank Eldon McSparren, 79, of Marshall, formerly of Keytesville, died Monday, Jan. 9, 2012, at Life Care Center of Carrollton.
Graveside services with military rites will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 13, 2012, at Fairview-McCurry Cemetery, north of Salisbury. Visitation will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Born March 2, 1932, in Chariton County, he was the son of the late Franklin Ellis McSparren and Kate Baker McSparren. He was married to Mary Jane Coy, who preceded him in death. Later he married Mary Gaddy Elliott, and they later divorced. He was a longtime employee for the state of Missouri, working for Missouri Department of Transportation, Missouri Department of Corrections and retired from Missouri Department of Health. He was a U.S. Army veteran and member of Slater V.F.W. and Salisbury American Legion.
Survivors include two stepdaughters, Muriel Gaylord of Keytesville and Autumn Sunshine Johnson of Texarkana, Texas; five grandsons, three of this area, Troy Wright, Roy Wright and Joy Wright, all of Keytesville; two great-granddaughters, Candi and Tiffany Wright; one sister, Dorothy Scott of Carrollton; along with several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife and three sisters.
