Bernice Scott Lenz Alexander, 99, of Marshall, died Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2011, at Mar-Saline Manor in Marshall.
Cremation. No services will be held, and inurnment will be held at a later date in Rosehill Cemetery in Lyle, Minn. Memorials may be made to Bethany Baptist Church or Marshall Senior Center in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Friends may sign the online register book at www.campbell-lewis.com.
Born April 25, 1912, in Erie, Ill., she was the daughter of the late John Scott and Florence Adams Scott. On Nov. 30, 1933, she married Jack Lenz in Austin, Minn., and he preceded her in death on Sept. 26, 1986. To this union were born three sons and one daughter, Jack Lenz Jr. and his wife, Betty, of Marshall, Phil Lenz and his wife, Glenda, of Cotter, Ark., Linda Klemesrud and her husband, Gary, of Iowa Falls, Iowa and Dan Lenz and his wife, Leslie, of Marianna, Fla.
Bernice was a leader in 4-H, taught Sunday school and was always active in her church and community.
On March 19, 1988, Bernice married John H. Alexander of Marshall who preceded her in death on Dec. 5, 2001.
She is survived by her four children; one stepdaughter, Gladys Ruth Pointer of Marshall; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by six brothers and two sisters.
