Juanita Ruth (Bonnie) Roehrs, 85, of Marshall, died Monday, Dec. 26, 2011, at The Living Center in Marshall.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 31, 2011, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Marshall, with Pastor William Heine officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday at the church. Burial will be in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. The pallbearers will be Bonnie's grandsons, Erik Roehrs, John Baptiste (J.B.) Litterer, Matthew Roehrs, Ian Roehrs, Emil Litterer and Dan Weber, a friend of the family. The honorary pallbearers will be Kathy VanBuskirk, Ed Reis, William Parker, Steve Hartwig, John Carton, Jackie Keller, Linda McDaniel and Marty Hird. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church or Marshall Philharmonic Orchestra in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Bonnie was born on Sept. 29, 1926, to the late Henry and Elizabeth Henning Miller on a farm in the Elmwood vicinity. On Sept. 7, 1947, she married the late Dr. Marvin E. Roehrs who died on Aug. 3, 1997. She was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Friends of Arrow Rock, Monday Club, Saline County Historical Society, Saline County Animal League and was a longtime contributor to the Marshall Philharmonic Orchestra. She was a homemaker, and when her children were young she was active in PTA, Girl Scouts and taught religious confirmation classes at her church. She loved trees, planted many and was an avid birdwatcher.

She is survived by four children, Andrew Roehrs, RPH and his wife, Maureen, of Marshall, and their children, Erik, Gretchen and Ian, David Roehrs, MD and his wife, Elaine, of Sedalia, and their children, Jennifer, Julie and Matthew, Maria Roehrs Al-Basha MD and her husband, Imad, of Rockford, Ill. and their children, Amira, Lamise and Nisrenn and Karen Roehrs Litterer, RN and her husband, John, of Burnet, Texas and their children Hana, John Baptiste (J.B.) and Emil; one sister, Vera Miller of Concordia; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.
