Slater woman hurt when vehicle collides with cow

Friday, December 23, 2011

A Slater woman suffered minor injuries Thursday, Dec. 22, when the vehicle she was riding in struck a cow, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report.

Danna L. Tweedy, 29, was taken by Saline County Ambulance to Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall for treatment.

The crash occurred at 8:45 p.m. when a 1998 Ford driven by Troy L. Tweedy, 33, was traveling eastbound on state Highway 240. About one-tenth of a mile east of the intersection with state Highway 41, the vehicle struck a cow on the roadway, troopers said.

Both occupants of the vehicle were wearing safety devices, according to the report.
