Anna C. Frerking, 93, of Higginsville, died Sunday, Dec. 11, 2011, at Lafayette Regional Health Center in Lexington.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 16, 2011, at Salem United Church of Christ located at 1500 Main St. in Higginsville, with Rev. Joyce Holley officiating, Doris Jane Stoner as organist and Evelyn Elmore as vocalist. Interment will be in City Cemetery in Higginsville. Casketbearers will be Jeremy James Frerking, Jonathan Michael Frerking, Cody Alan Frerking, Steve Gipson, Mike Woods and Max Schloman. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Davenport, Rick Stockman, Harvey Erdman, C.W. Hook, Paul Holsten, Marvin Patterson, Ron Hoffman and Darold Erdman. Born Monday, April 22, 1918, in Sweet Springs, she was the daughter of the late William Stockman Sr. and Mary Steffens Stockman. On Dec. 25, 1935, at Salem Church parsonage, she married James Harold Frerking, who survives of the home. She worked at Burkhart Shoe Factory as a clerk in the commissary, the cafeteria at Higginsville Public School, Runge's Ace Radio Co. and retired in 1973 from Hoefer Interior where she worked as a seamstress in the drapery department. She lived in Higginsville most of her life. She was a member of Salem United Church of Christ where she taught Sunday school and was a member of Circle #2 of the Women's Fellowship. She was a past Den Mother, working with the scouts for eight years. She was also a DeMoley Mother for several years. She was a member of Golden Circle Club until it became United Neighbors Extension Club, holding the offices of president and secretary in each club. She was also a member of the Higginsville Garden Club.

In addition to her husband ,she is survived by her sons, Jerry Frerking and his wife, Judy, of Marshall, and Jim Frerking of Higginsville; five grandchildren, Susan Gipson and her husband, Steve, Jeremy Frerking and his wife, Gretchen, Jonathan Michael Frerking and his wife, Rhonda, Cody Alan Frerking and Amy Woods and her husband, Michael; 11 great-grandchildren, Bret Gipson, Brook Gipson, Mason R. Frerking, Emilee Catherine Frerking, Lane Frerking, Kennedy Frerking, Aron Frerking, Zelda Frerking, Adrianne Pate, Loren Woods and Bethany Woods.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Lawrence, Elmer, Roy and William Stockman Jr.
