Mary Lois Lewis, 66, of Hermitage, formerly of Liberty, passed away peacefully on Dec. 7, 2011, after fighting cancer for ten years.
Visitation will begin at 1 p.m., followed by a service celebrating Mary's life at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 11, at Park Lawn Northland Chapel, Interstate 35 at 291 Highway in Liberty. Burial will be in Glenridge Cemetery in Liberty. A celebration of her life will also be held in the Pomme de Terre Lake area later next week, time and place to be announced. Born Oct. 22, 1945, in Oklahoma City, Okla., she was the daughter of Homer and Gladys (Yates) Dunsmore. On June 15, 1963, in Marshall, she was united in marriage to George Gerald Lewis, who survives of the home. For many years she was a medical transcriber. She also enjoyed square dancing. For the past ten years, Mary and George had resided at Pomme de Terre Lake and, more recently, spent winters at Winter Ranch in Alamo, Texas.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son, Dave Lewis and his wife, Ruth; grandchildren, Brad Thurston, Samantha Lewis and Hannah Lewis; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Suzie Bowers; two brothers, Billy Dunsmore and Calvin Dunsmore; as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by numerous brothers and sisters.
