Elizabeth Lockridge King, 88, of Chambersburg, Pa., passed away, Dec. 7, 2011.

Born Aug. 23, 1923, in Marshall, she was a daughter of the late William and Florence Patterson Lockridge. She earned her bachelors degree from the University of Missouri. She taught, worked as an administrative assistant and raised her family. She attended the Unitarian Universalist Church and enjoyed her family, gardening and reading. For the past few years she was lovingly cared for in the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Susan and David, along with the support of her daughter, Janet, and many local caregivers and friends.

She is survived by her two daughters, Susan Hartman and her husband, David, of Chambersburg, and Janet Harvey and her husband, Dale, of Maryville, Tenn.; her step-daughter Pat Mann and her husband, Paul, of Louisville, Ky.; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; her sister, Florence Lockridge; and her brother, John Lockridge.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, William Robert Kuhn; her second husband, William D. King; her sister Kitty Lee; and her brother Bill Lockridge.
