Dora Ruth Rothgeb, 96, of Sedalia, formerly of Otterville, died Saturday, Nov. 19, 2011, at Katy Manor in Pilot Grove.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2011, at McLaughlin Funeral Chapel with William H. Harlow officiating. Burial will follow in New Lebanon Cemetery. The family will receive friends from noon until time of the service in the chapel. Memorial contributions are suggested to New Lebanon Preservation Society in care of McLaughlin Funeral Chapel. Born May 6, 1915, in Florence, she was the daughter of the late Alva and Chloe (Cramer) Kruse. On June 30, 1936, she married Orville Rothgeb, who preceded her in death on June 14, 1991. She had worked for the shoe factories in Boonville and Tipton. She was a member of the New Lebanon Presbyterian Church, until it disbanded in 1968. She was a member of the New Lebanon Preservation Society and worked tirelessly to restore the 1860 New Lebanon Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Donna Holman of Sedalia; one brother, Gene Kruse of Fortuna; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Richard Kruse, Charles Kruse, Kenneth Kruse, Clarence Kruse and Alva Kruse Jr.; and a sister, Fay Belt.
