Don Anders, 90, of Warrensburg, formerly of Independence, died Saturday, Nov. 12, 2011, at Missouri Veterans Home in Warrensburg.

Graveside services with military rites will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, with William W. Harlow officiating. Memorials may be made to Missouri Veterans Home in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Friends may sign the online register book at www.campbell-lewis.com.

Born Sept. 15, 1921, in Parkville, he was the son of the late David Anders and Myrtle Mae Goddell Anders. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. On May 30, 1952, he married Virginia Ruth Eyre who preceded him in death on April 1, 1996. He had lived in Warrensburg the last two years, living in Independence most of his life, and retired from Lake City Arsenal.

Survivors include one daughter, Sharon Richardson of Marshall; and one grandson.

In addition to his parents,he was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters.
