Valley women 63, William Woods 56

Junior Clare Youngclaus came off the bench to provide 13 points to the Missouri Valley College women's basketball team Tuesday during a 63-56 non-conference home win over William Woods.

The Lady Vikings led by four points at halftime and were able to hold on down the stretch. Valley helped itself by making 12 of 16 free-throw attempts and limiting the Lady Owls to 32.7-percent field-goal shooting.

Junior Ashlee Taylor had a game-high 16 points for William Woods (2-2).

Senior Hannah Young led the Lady Vikings' starters with 11 points, junior Cara Clark registered a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds, and junior Sami Jackson contributed 10 points and five assists.

Valley (1-3) will host Missouri Baptist in a non-conference tilt Friday.
