Milburn W. "Bud" Staus, 81, of Smithton, died Saturday, Nov. 5, 2011, at his home.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2011, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Sedalia, with Father Jim Betzen officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. at the church with a rosary at 6 p.m. Memorials are suggested to St. Patrick Catholic Church in care of McLaughlin Funeral Chapel in Sedalia.
Born Feb. 28, 1930, in Mora, he was the son of the late F.A. and Margaret Lappat Staus. On Feb. 5, 1955, in Sedalia, he married Mary Helen Seifner who survives of the home. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and was a retired farmer. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by five sons, Paul Staus of Polo, Gerald Staus, Michael Staus and Harold Staus, all of Sedalia, and David Staus of Smithton; three daughters, Barbara Brandt of Marshall and Marlene Ulmer and Patricia Bartlett, both of Sedalia; 21 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Daniel Staus and Merley Staus, both of Sedalia; and one sister, Margie Weller of Sedalia.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister and a great-grandson.
