Helen Jean Ussery, 89, of Marshall, died Friday, Nov. 4, 2011, at The Living Center in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2011, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with Mark Gooden officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Slater City Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Marshall Family Worship Center. Born Sept. 14, 1922, in Chillicothe, she was the daughter of the late Charles Manning and Pearl Lemmon Manning. In 1940, she married Wilbur Wayne Buck who preceded her in death on April 8, 1967. On May 15, 1976, she married Gene Ussery who preceded her in death on October 24, 2003. She had lived in Marshall and Slater for many years. She had worked at Blosser Home for the Aged for many years and was a homemaker. She was a member of Marshall Family Worship Center.
Survivors include one son, Michael Buck of Slater; a daughter-in-law, Onneassa Faye Buck Shown of Cole Camp; five grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Charlotte Buck of Hot Springs, Ark.; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Barbara Ellen Buck; one son, Carl Buck; six brothers; and two sisters.
